To create email sequences that feel like a continuation of the brand rather than technical automation.
This is especially important in welcome communication because the first email defines the emotional temperature of everything that follows.
What matters in the work
A strong sequence needs to do several things at once:
- introduce the brand
- move the reader forward
- sound human and intentional
- stay coherent instead of turning into isolated emails
My approach
I usually begin with the user journey and the role of the sequence within the wider content system.
From there I build:
- progression between emails
- the thematic structure
- the verbal tone
- subject lines and preview text
- the balance between value, intimacy and CTA
Outcome
The result is a sequence that behaves like a narrative instead of a list of messages. Every email has its own job, but the voice and internal rhythm remain consistent throughout.
